What is a "Pro Scooter"? How are pro scooters different from a Razor Kick Scooter?

A pro scooter is another name for a trick scooter, intended for freestyle tricks.

In general, pro scooters are more durable and customizable than entry-level kick scooters.

What’s the difference between “Complete Scooters” and “Custom Builds”? Which is right for me?

The short answer is a difference in price and customization.

If it’s your first time looking for a pro scooter, or you are gifting this product as someone’s first pro scooter, we strongly suggest choosing a complete scooter and sizing it appropriately to the height of the rider (see our sizing recommendations in the “Scooter Sizing Chart” below).

Complete scooters are pre-built, and ready-to-use scooters that are designed to deliver the most value to the widest variety of riders. Despite arriving pre-built, with very little setup time, complete scooters are still fully customizable with compatible aftermarket parts.

On the contrary, custom builds are built from the ground up, using hand-selected parts that are best suited for experienced riders seeking maximum customization, features, and specs.

*If you build your own custom scooter, you risk ordering incompatible parts. To verify size and compatibility, please contact us prior to placing an order for the best possible riding experience.

What is the difference between “Park” and “Street” complete scooters?

Generally, complete scooters land under two categories; park and street.

*Although some beginners prefer street riding, we recommend starting with a “park” complete scooter, for the best early riding experience and a faster learning curve.

Park completes are designed to be used on skatepark ramps, performing high-flying maneuvers (flips, whips, spins, and over-the-head) that demand lightweight and compact components. The agility of park-style scooters are a benefit to beginners and pros alike.

Street completes are designed to be used in a variety of urban environments, and are optimized for grinds, balance control, and large drops (rails, ledges, gaps, stairs, etc.). Street completes are typically larger and heavier, to withstand the most extreme obstacles and riding scenarios sought by experienced riders who have mastered the fundamentals and taken them to more challenging obstacles outside the skatepark.

What size pro scooter do I need? How do I choose correctly?

Arguably the most important factor in a pro scooter is getting the size right. All you need to know is the rider’s height, and compare to our charts below.

If you’re purchasing a complete scooter, all you will need to focus on is the bar height, since the dimensions of everything else on the scooter is designed to be proportionate.

For custom builds we should consider two main parts - the bars and the deck. Please see the below bar sizing chart, and deck sizing chart to appropriately size your scooter.

If you have any issues, don’t hesitate to reach out through our instant website chat, or give us a call.

  • CORRECT

A scooter handlebar should be from mid thigh to just below the belly button.

The waistline is our general recommendation for optimal bar height.
Choosing a bar height that rises to the waistline improves safety and the overall riding experience.

  • TOO SHORT

Do not choose bars too short; it will cause the rider significant discomfort.

This can increase the risk of injuries, especially due to poor riding posture and
unbalanced weight distribution. It also limits the ability to perform tricks when a scooter is not sized correctly.

  • TOO TALL

Do not choose bars too tall thinking the rider will grow into them.

This can increase the risk of injuries, especially facial injuries on the bar that are dangerous and costly. It also limits the ability to perform tricks when a
    scooter is not sized correctly.
