Pre-built complete scooters are the best option for someone looking to get their first scooter or upgrade their current scooter if multiple components need replacing. Pre-built completes are far more affordable than a custom build. While pre-built complete scooters aren’t customizable like a build you fully piece together yourself, there are many options to find the right one for you and your preferences.

The main thing to remember when picking out a scooter is the bar height, as you don’t want one that is too short or overly tall. We recommend having the bars around your waistline. Most scooters on our site have the overall height of the scooter listed, but if they don’t, you can add about ~9” to the bar height to get about what the overall height would be. Secondly, it is important to keep in mind the deck size, a scooter deck that is too short in length or width will not be able to accommodate the foot placement of a rider with adult-sized feet. Other features to consider are compression type and wheel size. In scootering, there are two riding styles: Street riding and Park riding. This does not mean these scooters can only be ridden in streets or skateparks. The different riding styles are just different sets of tricks that a rider will lean toward over others. Street riding focuses more on grinds on rails and ledges, manuals, and tricks down gaps, ledges, and stairsets. ‘Park’ riding is more focused on getting air out of ramps and doing more tricks with the scooter rather than being dependent on your obstacle. Because of this, ‘Street’ tricks benefit from wider and longer decks and handlebars as they make these tricks a bit easier, at the cost of the heavier scooter. ‘Park’ tricks benefit from having slightly smaller parts and making your scooter as lightweight and easy to maneuver as possible.
